About MAA Canteen Scheme
Just as mothers serve healthy food to their children very fondly, the West Bengal state government has launched the “MAA” scheme to provide healthy food at a very low cost to all the poor and disadvantaged people in the state, through which the West Bengal government will provide rice, pulses, curry, and egg curry at only Rs 5 per plate
Although the West Bengal state government currently providing free rations, but there are many people who work outside (workers, day laborers, etc.), and half of their income finished for eating twice a day, so thinking about those people, the West Bengal government has launched this scheme with a budget of Rs 100 crore

- To Provide Food Items To The Poor Citizens Of The State At Affordable Prices.
- To Provide Nutritious Food To The People Of West Bengal For 5 Rupees
