About Shisu sathi Prakalpa
Shisu sathi Project is a unique initiative run by the Government of West Bengal to provide free medical treatment to all children suffering from heart disease. The project was launched by Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee in August 2013 on the occasion of World Heart Day. through this scheme, The government of West Bengal announced that all the children in the state who are suffering from various heart diseases will be provided completely free medical treatment, The project is really admirable

Beneficiaries’ Eligibility
- To get the opportunity under this scheme, the applicant has to be a permanent resident of West Bengal
- Only children up to the age of 12 who are suffering from severe heart disease will benefit from this project and after 12 years all children will get medical benefits under the Swasthya sathi card
- All children are eligible regardless of family income but poor children will get priority in the application processing

Through this scheme, the State Government of West Bengal will provide completely free treatment to all children suffering from severe heart diseases irrespective of rich and poor beside the West Bengal government is also trying to bring the treatment of some more diseases under the scheme
