- The candidate must be born between January 16, 2002, and December 29, 2005 (both days inclusive) to be eligible for the IAF Airmen Group X and Y exam
- Educational qualifications are different for different posts in the Indian Air Force. Candidates must check thoroughly the education qualification for which they are applying
IAF Group X and Y Medical Standards Requirements
| Visual Standards and Height | Requirements |

| Weight | Weight should be proportionate to age. |
| Chest | The minimum range of expansion must be 5 cm. |
| Hearing | Should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately. |
| Dental | Should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points. |
| Health | Candidates should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from all communicable diseases & skin ailments. Candidates must be physically and mentally fit to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain. |
| Body Tattoo | Permanent body tattoos are not permitted, however tattoos only on the inner face of the forearms(inside of elbow to the wrist), back(dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of the palm, and Tribal with tattoos which are as per custom Traditions of their tribes may be considered. However, the right to decide on the acceptability /unacceptability of the individual rests with the Selection Centre. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit two photographs (close up and distinct view) with details of size and type of the Tattoo. |
| Consumption of Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) | Consumption of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances banned under the NDPS Act 1985 shall be a reject criterion for selection into the IAF and Airmen found either in possession or storing or distributing or consuming such drugs and substances after enrolment shall be liable for disciplinary action including dismissal from the IAF. |
IAF Airmen Group X Visual Standards
There are different visual standards set for different posts in the IAF Airmen Recruitment exam. Candidates must get their visuals checked and make sure that they follow the different visual standards listed below.
